Session theme: ‘Grounding and Centring’

Together we will meet ourselves where we are and gradually slow down, connecting to the earth, and releasing stress through steady, grounding rhythms.

Notice how you’re feeling, get grounded, connect to your Self energy, let all the obligations and stressors fall away, slow down, and tap into your inner peace as you explore your creativity, express your authentic self, listen and be heard.  Experience the power of gathering in circle and connecting through the ancient beat of the drum.

Drumming circles have been a part of healing rituals across cultures since ancient times, bringing people together in community and fostering a sense of shared purpose and pleasure.

What to expect

We will begin with some fun techniques and games to loosen up and connect to the drum and each other.

Then we will explore the theme through improvisation, using the drum as a tool for self-expression, improvisation, play, creativity and connection.

Frame drums and beaters are provided by me - or you can bring your own frame drum if you prefer.

No previous drumming experience is necessary. This is about how it feels to immerse ourselves in the joy of free expression and presence!

Benefits

Group drumming offers a wide range of physical, emotional, and social benefits!

Research has shown that participating in drum circles can strengthen the immune system, support cardiovascular health, and enhance motor coordination—all while easing physical and mental tension.

The rhythmic patterns of drumming have a stabilizing effect, offering both energizing and calming benefits, helping participants feel balanced and grounded.

Beyond the physical advantages, group drumming is a powerful tool for fostering mindfulness and emotional well-being. The inclusive and communal nature of drum circles nurture a sense of connection and shared purpose, uplifting mood, reducing stress, and regulating emotions.

As we engage in rhythmic play, we tap into our creativity, find moments of authentic self-expression, and experience the joy of making music together.

These sessions blend mind, body, emotion, and sound, creating a holistic experience that leaves participants feeling revitalized, relaxed, and deeply connected. Whether for relaxation, mental clarity, or simply the fun of communal rhythm, group drumming is a profoundly enriching activity.
